The 3X Bluicer Pro is a machine with an ace up its sleeve: it works as a juicer and a smoothie-maker, which opens up the possibility of making fresh juice at home to use in your smoothies.
This enables the Bluicer to make drinks that taste considerably more vibrant than tends to be possible with a regular smoothie-maker.
Setting up the Bluicer takes a bit of time and care. There’s no trouble in terms of following the instructions – actually, the manual is very well-put-together – but it pays to be cautious, as attaching a component incorrectly could lead to your kitchen walls getting a fresh coat of smoothie.
We suggest attaching the jug lid especially carefully, as it will leak if not done properly.
The Bluicer can be used as a juicer, a smoothie-maker, or a combination of the two. To get the best out of it, we recommend using the configuration where the juicer component channels juice into the blending jug, ready for mixing with other ingredients into a smoothie.
This is easier to do than it might sound at first, though we should warn users that juicing and blending added together creates a lot of washing-up.
As we’ve come to expect with Sage, all the Bluicer’s components are of the highest quality you’d expect to see in a domestic kitchen, from the tough plastic blending jug to the sharp, efficient juicing disc.
Having tasted a fair few smoothies made with the Bluicer, we think the results are worth the extra effort involved in using the appliance. Made with fresh juice, they have extraordinary flavour and colour.
No smoothie-maker is perfect, and one weak spot of the Bluicer is that it doesn’t seem to be very good at blending seeds. We’re nit-picking here, as this is true of most smoothie-makers.
The Bluicer is a great-looking machine – which is just as well, as it will take up a great deal of space in the kitchen. We expect most users will keep the blending components out on a kitchen surface, while storing the juicing components in a cupboard until they’re needed.
The 3X Bluicer Pro is very efficiently packaged considering its relatively high complexity.
