Method

  • step 1

    Season the turkey all over and put in the slow cooker with all the remaining ingredients, along with 1 litre of water. Set your slow cooker to low and cook for 3-4 hrs until no pink meat remains, or a meat thermometer reads 75C at the thickest part of the breast.

  • step 2

    Remove the turkey from the slow cooker and serve, or cover with foil and leave to rest while you make gravy using the stock that remains (see tip, below). Serve the turkey with the gravy, roast potatoes, carrots and greens.

Recipe tips

This recipe works for a turkey crown but you’ll need to cook on high for 3-5 hrs depending on the size of the turkey. If you have a meat thermometer, the thickest part should reach 75C.
Use the leftover stock to make our three-ingredient gravy.
