Janice Hopper is a freelance food and travel writer based in Aberdeen writing for a varied mix of publications. Her career started in television, writing and directing documentaries around Scotland. This shaped a filming lifestyle of extensive dining out, on the road, on a budget, trying flavours and eateries across the country. Working on the BBC’s agricultural programme Landward (Countryfile’s Scottish cousin) instilled the fundamental appreciation that great food stories start on the land:- it’s a long and dedicated journey from field to fork. Writing highlights include press trips to Parma to devour ham, trying Faroese specialties such as ræst, and experiencing a Vegan cruise. Now, as the mother of two young boys, family dining is also on the agenda. Photo credit: Leticia Gaidon Bradford
