Cons
- can’t go in the oven to high temps, browning a little uneven
KitchenAid Classic Frying Pan summary
KitchenAid is well-known for its iconic stand mixers as well as other high-quality appliances like blenders, food processors and toasters. Their cookware range is less well-known. This non-stick frying pan is available in a range of sizes, from 20cm to 28cm.
It’s dishwasher safe and suitable for all hob types. Although it can go in the oven, it’s only safe up to 160C, so it’s doesn’t quite offer the versatility of some of the other frying pans we’ve tested.

How is the KitchenAid Classic frying pan to use?
Although understated in design, this frying pan has been finished to a high quality. It has a reassuring weight to it and is well balanced when held.
The handle is comfortable to hold, despite not being shaped to the hand. It remains cool when cooking and has thin and attractive detailing that connects it to the main pan.
The pan is nice and sturdy on the hob. It takes a good amount of time to heat up – two minutes in total.
This frying pan is oven safe to just 160C. While it’s great to have the option to go from hob to oven, 160C isn’t particularly high, so it does limit the versatility of this pan.
Results
Using two simple recipes, American pancakes and a basic omelette, we put this frying pan to the test.
Our omelette was evenly cooked with a soft-set centre. We found it easy to flip thanks to the gently sloping sides and we managed to achieve even browning over the entire surface. We noticed that this pan holds onto heat – a positive in most circumstances – but we felt the pan was a little slow to cool down. Nonetheless, we found the omelette easy to remove from the pan.
The American pancakes we cooked were well cooked in the middle with a light and bouncy interior. Both sides of the pancake were patchy with definite cool spots: we’d like to have seen more even browning. Like the omelette though, each pancake slid right out of the pan.
Conclusion
This sleek and understated frying pan comes at a great price for such a renowned brand. It’s comfortable to cook with and has a superb non-stick coating.
We were let down but a couple of things, namely the low maximum oven temperature and the uneven browning on the pancake. But if evenness of cook and the option to pop it in the oven doesn’t bother you, then this pan is a welcome addition to any collection.
