Zyliss Cook non-stick frying pan (24cm)
Pros: widely available, lightweight yet sturdy, excellent even cooking and temperature control, great heat retention, impressive non-stick, good value
Cons: smaller than other brands, limited oven safety
Hob type: all
Score 4/5
It showcased this ability by making the tastiest omelettes in our tests – they had a perfect silky interior and the deepest and most even colour on the outside. We also tested pancakes that, although airy and evenly browned, did spread a little more than with other non-stick frying pans we tested.
The pan adapted quickly to changes in temperature and maintained its heat efficiently. It was great for high-heat cooking, though a smaller surface area and higher-than-usual sides did partially act in contrast to this.
The pan feels lightweight yet sturdily engineered, with a pleasing ergonomically designed handle – though this felt slightly loose, and the material of the handle restricts how ovenproof it is (only up to 180C).
In all, the Zyliss Cook pan is a great mid-tier frying pan with exceptional cooking results, and is one of the most widely available options. Despite a few niggles with the size and depth, as well as its overall usability, it's a fantastic option for most everyday jobs, and will provide exceptional control over your cooking.
