When it comes to both form and function, this toaster has the wow factor. We loved its unusual industrial look, with brushed chrome, dials with six browning settings in place of the traditional knob, and soft angles that give it an Art Deco feel.
Plenty of settings offer everything you need to brown all types of bread: dual controls for versatility, effective warming, defrost and bagel functions, individual click-in crumb trays that won’t fall out when you put it away, and wide slots.
Even better, its browning is nice and even across each slice, on all types of bread, and as close to identical on each side as we’ve seen. It even handled frozen bread well, which is often a challenge.
Wide slots comfortably fit both standard and thick-sliced artisan bread, and although taller slices don’t quite fit sideways into the slots, pop them in vertically and they’ll still brown nearly all the way to the top. On top of all that, it’s speedy, too, with a medium setting taking under two minutes to produce a beautifully browned piece of toast.
We tested the silver model, but it’s also available in black, white, bronze, glamour red and prestige blue, making it suitable for most kitchen designs.
The only downside is the size, which we're happy to live with when we’re looking at such a great all-rounder.
