Best breadmaker for rustic loaves

This breadmaker gave our loaf a pleasing rustic look with a crisp crust and light, fluffy crumb. It comes with a wealth of settings, including a fruit and nut dispenser, plus a delay timer so you can wake up to the smell of fresh bread in the morning – an absolute win for us.
It's versatile too, and the bonus functions for making gluten-free loaves, dough only and packet-bread mix are a clever and unique addition. Deals-wise, we saw it drop to £120 in July this year – not far off the current price – so we'll be keeping our eyes peeled to see whether further discounts are dropped.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a breadmaker for a while, this user-friendly model from Tower is a brilliant option for first-timers. With 12 simple settings and an intuitive control panel, this fuss-free model produced just what we wanted: a brilliant loaf of bread. The medium-browning setting left the loaf a little paler than we’d hoped, but when it came to flavour and texture, we couldn’t fault this machine.

ProCook 2lb breadmaker
Best value breadmaker
Star rating: 4/5
Wattage: 550W
£129£79 at ProCook | (save £50 or 39%)
ProCook regularly offers savings on the RRP of its products throughout the year, but this is still a deal not to be missed. This breadmaker comes with curved edges that reduce its footprint on the countertop, and has a clear viewing window so you can watch your loaf as it bakes.
There are 12 presets to choose from: basic, French bread, whole wheat, quick, sweet, dough, gluten-free, cake, sandwich, buttermilk, kneading, and bake. There are also three colour settings – light, medium, and dark – though in test we found even the dark mode produced relatively pale results. Our loaves were a little misshapen, too, but had a good rise and soft texture overall.

How to shop safely online over Black Friday
When looking for Black Friday breadmaker deals, avoid being duped by targeted scams by only shopping with retailers you trust – if a discount seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Avoid sites and private sellers that you don't recognise, particularly on social media, and don't give out personal information similar to security questions – as they could be used to predict passwords.
Rest assured, we won't be adding any links to this page unless we're fully comfortable with the retailer. For more tips and advice, read our guide on how to avoid online scams when shopping online.
